MODEL CONTEST RULES

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Any mass transit vehicle in any scale may be entered into the Model Contest provided that it is the ORIGINAL work of the contestant. Please limit your entry to ONE model. For 2010 we are adding transit related model structures as a category. The same conditions apply in that it must be the original work of the contestant and limited to one model. A separate prize will be awarded for this category.

  • (1.) Owner agrees to fill out registration form completely and accurately so the judges may evaluate the car properly against other models.
  • (2.) Scratch builders are encouraged to provide one or more prototype photos in the scratch built or kit bashed category. This documentation helps judges verify any unique features of the original which are duplicated on the model. There is a five (5) point bonus for submitting photos. To earn points the photos must be of the prototype, not the model entered.
  • (3.) The contest opens at 10:00 AM. Owner agrees to leave model on competition table until after the judges have made their decision and prizes have been awarded, i.e., until 3:00 P.M.
  • (4.) Models will be judged by accomplished and recognized model makers known locally and nationally.
  • (5.) Each category must have at least three entries for there to be a contest, and or if there are less than the minimum number of entries in any category those entries must score at least 250 points to qualify for a prize.
  • (6.) Judges decisions are final.
  • (7.) Prizes consist of an award for BEST MODEL, and in the opinion of the judges, Honorable Mention may be given to other commendable models.

All attendees of the Mass Transit Modelers Convention & Trolley Meets may cast their vote for the BEST of SHOW using the ballots provided. Only one vote per person please.
